After placing a pending order, market conditions may shift and your original target price may no longer match your trading plan. At this point, many users look up how to cancel pending orders in MT5.

As long as a pending order has not been triggered, it can normally be modified or deleted directly, without waiting for price to hit the target level.

1. How to Cancel Pending Orders on Desktop MT5

On desktop MT5, go to the Trade tab within the Toolbox window.

Locate the pending order you wish to cancel and use the delete-order function.

MT5 also supports fast pending-order removal. If one-click-trading is enabled, you may delete the target order directly from the trade panel.

Once deleted, the order will no longer await its original trigger price.

If your trading plan has changed, clearing unwanted pending orders promptly keeps your order list organised.

2. How to Cancel Pending Orders on Mobile MT5

For Android MT5, navigate to the Trade tab, locate the relevant pending order, open the operation menu and select delete order.

The operating logic for the iPhone version is largely identical: access pending-order management via the Trade tab and perform deletion.

Certain versions also let you select and delete pending orders straight from the chart.

You do not need to return to your desktop computer to handle orders when you are away.

3. Can Deleted Orders Still Be Retrieved?

Yes.

After you delete a pending order, it is not erased entirely from all records.

MT5 retains cancelled pending orders inside the History tab with a cancelled status tag.

If you later need to verify when you cancelled an order, look it up within the History section. This also makes it convenient to review which target prices you previously set.

4. Difference Between Modifying and Cancelling Pending Orders

If your overall trading idea remains unchanged but you need to adjust the target price, choose to modify the pending order.

MT5 permits you to adjust trigger price, take-profit, stop-loss and validity period for pending orders; however, the set trade volume generally cannot be changed directly via the pending-order modification window.

Should you need to readjust trade direction or lot size as well, the cleaner approach is usually to cancel the original pending order and place a new one according to your revised plan.

5. Why Cannot a Pending Order Be Submitted?

Besides difficulties cancelling orders, another frequent issue is failure to submit pending orders at all.

Each platform sets its own minimum pending-order distance. On Lucky Gold, pending orders for London Gold and London Silver must be placed at least 200 points, equivalent to $2, away from the current market price.

For example, if your target price sits too close to live quotes, submission may fail even when you follow MT5 operating steps correctly.

When pending-order submission fails, first check the gap between the live market price and your target price.

6. Should You Place a New Order After Deleting a Pending Order?

This depends on your personal trading plan.

If only the target price needs adjustment, you may set up a fresh pending order.

If your original trading logic is no longer valid, there is no need to immediately create another pending-order merely to maintain order quantity.

Lucky Gold supports a minimum trade size of 0.01 lots. When placing new orders, double-check your lot size and pending-order price level.
